FORTITUDE THE LION - Starting at $259

The lion is a symbol that throughout history and throughout various cultures has been associated with strength, power, courage and fortitude. The famous marble lion statues outside the 5th Avenue New York City Public Library were originally named Leo Astor and Leo Lenox, after The New York Public Library founders, John Jacob Astor and James Lenox. Later they were known as Lady Astor and Lord Lenox (even though they are both male lions). During the 1930s, Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia named them Patience and Fortitude, for the qualities he felt New Yorkers would need to survive the economic depression. These names have stood the test of time and we decided to name this ring after the lion who sits guarding the north side of the main stairway - Fortitude.

This ring is solidly crafted in .925 sterling silver and weighs in at almost one ounce! I can also make this in 10KT, 14KT 18KT or 22KT gold, platinum, palladium, or most other metals. Please contact us for a quote.

Each ring is individually carved and crafted to your size. Many jewelers duplicate their original models with rubber molds, but you just don't get the same crisp detail in a mass produced copy. All of my rings are created from a first generation wax model. This ring is heavy enough to stand the test of time.
