MEMENTO MORI II - Starting at $209

The Latin term, "Memento Mori," can be translated as "remember you have to die." Acknowledging mortality can remind us of how precious life really is. Memento Mori was a popular theme in Victorian art and jewelry and has seen a revival through the steampunk movement of today.

Being a native of Tucson, Arizona, I probably see more cheerful art featuring fully dressed and active skeletons, or simple skulls, than most Americans. Much of this derives from the culture of our neighbors to the south, specifically the Mexican 'Day of the Dead' or 'El Día de Los Muertos' celebration.

NOTE: This ring has the Latin numeral "II" following its name to distinguish it from our "Memento Mori I" where the skulls are arranged to all face the same direction.

The skulls on this ring run around the entire band. It is solidly crafted in your choice of 14KT white, yellow or rose gold or .925 sterling silver. I can also make this in 10KT, 18KT or 22KT gold, platinum, palladium, or most other metals. Please contact us for a quote.

Each piece is individually carved and crafted to your size. Many jewelers duplicate their original models with rubber molds, but you just don't get the same crisp detail in a mass produced copy. All of my rings are created from a first generation wax model. This ring is heavy enough to stand the test of time.

  • To create your individually handcrafted piece, our current workload requires approximately four weeks from the date of order to the date of shipping. If you need your piece sooner, please contact us to see if we can accommodate your request at no extra charge. Customized pieces may take longer. Please contact us for an ETA.
